What is the daily loss limit in prop firm trading?+
The daily loss limit is the maximum amount you can lose in a single trading day. FTMO sets it at 5% of your starting balance ($5,000 on a $100K account). If you hit this limit, your challenge or funded account is terminated.
How is daily loss calculated by FTMO?+
FTMO calculates daily loss as the difference between your balance at the start of the trading day and your lowest equity point during the day, including open positions. Closed and open losses both count toward the limit.
Does the daily loss limit reset each day?+
Yes, the daily loss limit resets at midnight server time (typically CE(S)T for FTMO). Each new trading day starts fresh, but your max drawdown limit is cumulative and never resets.
